About Us

What began as a group of five friends in the fall of 2004 has evolved and become a force to be reckoned with. The Holy Cows have shed their modest beginnings and now boast over thirty members and six mentors.

Run like a business, The Holy Cows have department heads for both Engineering and Marketing/Finance, with managers in each department. During the off-season, the team spends hours spreading awareness of the FIRST Program by performing thousands of hours of community service and presenting at schools, companies, and conventions. The off-season also means writing grants, recruiting new members, and maintaining past seasons’ robots. When January rolls around, the team spends six weeks developing and machining a robot. In January of 2005 the team hosted the Kick-Off event for Team San Diego, a coalition of all the San Diego FIRST Robotics teams, and has continued to do so annually. Now in its fifth season, the team is more experienced and dedicated then ever before.
